Fibre 2 offers absolutely unlimited usage with no data caps. There is a fixed monthly price no matter how much you download or stream. BT also promises not to slow down for managing traffic at any time

Its built-in features like automatic channel selection, smart scanning, and the latest WiFi technology make it one of the great routers that offer the best WiFi performance.
Difference between Smart Hub and Smart Hub 2
The latest Smart Hub 2 is a more advanced router with an added feature – Complete Wi-FI for faster speeds in every room of your home. You can also manage it more easily with the My BT App.
Smart Hub 2 is designed for full fibre broadband to handle lightning speeds and deliver faster WiFi speeds. It is included with BT Plus or can be purchased.
The new BT Smart Hub 3 is scheduled to launch in July 2022.
Fibre 1 vs Fibre 2
Fibre 2 offers faster download and upload speeds when compared to Fibre 1. While both packages include features like unlimited usage, Smart Hub and BT Virus Protect as standard, Fibre 2 customers also get more Cloud storage.
While each plan is suitable for a different type of user, Fibre 1 is cheaper and can help you save money.

Fibre Essential vs Fibre 2
Compared to Fibre 1 and Fibre 2, BT Fibre Essential is slower at 36 Mb/s. The plan includes the Hub 5, an older router with features compared to the Smart Hub
The package also lacks in other standard features like Virus Protect and free online storage. We also don’t see much savings by choosing this plan instead of Fibre 1 or Fibre 2.
Fibre 2 with BT TV
Since BT TV is only available to BT broadband customers, you can get it as an add-on to Fibre 2. There are three TV packages – Entertainment, Sport, Big Sport and VIP for an extra £12 per month.
Is BT Fibre 2 any good?
As one of the most reliable fibre broadband services in the UK, BT offers a wide range of plans and offers great value add-ons to give you value for money.
Overall, Fibre 2 is a premium plan with plenty of customization options, and BT also offers excellent UK customer support.
The best feature is the smart hub, designed for BT’s ultra-fast fibre broadband with hassle-free WiFi.
Alternatively, you can find faster plans from Virgin Media, or choose cheaper options at TalkTalk and Plusnet, which offer similar plans at competitive prices.
